Mission:
Kaurs United is an international non-profit organization, founded in 2004 as a subsidiary of the Gurmat Studies Foundation. The primary goal of Kaurs United is to strengthen the spiritual lives of Sikh women around the globe by providing them with reliable resources, innovative learning environments, and long-term support. Kaurs United organizes and sponsors awareness programs, workshops, discussions, lectures, recreational and sporting events, meditation events, and Sikh women’s retreats throughout the year for women of all ages. It is our mission to uplift and inspire Sikh women so that they can uplift and inspire the world.
Kaurs United was founded under the blessings of Guru Granth Sahib Ji, the father of the Khalsa Guru Gobind Singh Ji, and the mother of the Khalsa Mata Sahib Kaur Ji. The founding of Kaurs United was inspired by the life of a young Gursikh woman named Rena Kaur, who passed on from this earth on May 8, 2004. Click here to read a biography of Rena Kaur.
The Kaurs United coordinating branch is in British Columbia, while there are volunteers in various cities across North America. We hope to reach out to communities across the globe and motivate Sikh women to start local branches of Kaurs United in their city or town. Since 2004, we have been blessed to participate and organize special events in Greater Vancouver, Victoria, Calgary, Seattle, Yuba City, and Toronto.
